Scared myself tonight

I added a download and ripped CD to my direct attached USB drive tonight. Before I re-attached the drive I used the app to turn off the S1. After adding it, I turned it back on via the app. Music started playing for a bit, then there was a pop, and silence. Oh no, not on a Friday, I screamed.

However, after power cycling the PS, everything is okay.

On a serious note, Lumin, like everyone else, has a number of bugs they should address.

Great song that sounds good too! From this album:

Bud, Friday nights at your place scare me :D

Do you have a L1 to feed your Lumin? I'm wondering how you feed the music to your S1.

Fridays have been fine lately. Then again, I only use the sig stereo on Friday and Saturday, so that is why Fridays have been interesting.

I use a direct attached USB drive. Another bug I have found is after reattaching the USB drive it will sometimes cause the app to go berserk by just cycling through every song for a few milliseconds. I need to power cycle the Lumin to recover from that. I thought yesterday to try the app power switch instead of physically powering it off.

Gotcha. Have you considered a NAS drive for your music instead of the USB drive? I'm wondering if some of your hiccups are because of the USB drive. Some of us think that a NAS drive coupled with using the CAT5 connection gives better sound quality also.

I probably will at some point in the future, but for now I prefer minimalism. A NAS brings Ethernet cables into the equation. Besides, a direct attached USB is a valid option, so it should be tested and work.
