SACD Player recommendations ......

Anthony, I had a Cary 303/300 and while I liked it a lot it proved to be unreliable. I assume your 306 pro has been fine ? I know a couple of other folks that have reliability issues with their 306's.

If I was interested in re-arranging my shelving unit (I'm not)I really think for the $$ the PS Audio 'duo' is the way to go, second fiddle right now is the Marantz SA-10.

Dave, I had the 306/200 with no reliability issues, then went to the 306 SACD (non-Pro) that had overheating and disc reading issues, and now have the 306 SACD Pro with no issues.

I have compared my SACD Pro to the McIntosh MCD500 and the Marantz 14S1 and preferred the Cary. The McIntosh was great and only slightly less robust than the Cary, while I found the Marantz too warm for my tastes. The McIntosh and Marantz are also more limited in terms of digital inputs than the Cary.

And at Cary is a pre-owned https://carydirect.com/cd-306-sacd-pro.html

well..........I'm done thinking about it, after a nice chat with Daryl I made the purchase. Hopefully Anthony I'll be as happy with it as you are with yours !

If you were happy with the sound of the 303, then I think you'll be more pleased with the 306 SACD Pro. Plus you have at least a limited warranty on it if I assume correctly. As I'm sure you are aware, Cary traditionally has exceptional customer service. I've only used CS under the new ownership once, but it was consistent with my past experience.

A stock 205 is impressive for the price but, the Modwright upgrade takes it to another level. IMHO
