Thoughts on 'all in one' SACD players, 5k or less ?

Can anything beat the Oppo 205 in that category ?

See if you can audition a psaudio direct stream. I think they’re just a tad more than $5k. Mine blows my socks off routinely.

I preferred the Marantz SA-14s1 over the Cary player. Could have been system synergy, but I wasn't the only one who shared that opinion.

Marantz sa8500 , I know it is below the sa-14s1 but its still very good . I am listening now to one . very reliable and sounds great

As a universal player, I just don't think so. the Analog second is pretty nice as compared to the 105, really works nice in the video area. Tidal works and the latest beta upgrade is adding MQA. Roon was added in the Sept 13th upgrade.

If you want to spend a bit more, check out the new Ayon CD-35 HF, SACD/CD Limited edition,...a friend has one and it sounds great!

$24,000 holy smokes

Sorry,...put the HF in there by accident which is advertised now for $22K; the player my friend has is the stock CD-35 and it's amazing, can be had for about $8K new.
Given its performance I cannot imagine what the HF sounds like should price and performance uplifts be related...

I was like wow when I saw the HF pricing.

Thank you gents for the suggestions, I've got to give the Marantz spinners a closer look. Is that Pioneer unit available here in the US ? I had a Pioneer Elite unit about ten years ago, total POS !

A used Cary 306 SACD Pro is exactly what you described.

Anthony, I had a Cary 303/300 and while I liked it a lot it proved to be unreliable. I assume your 306 pro has been fine ? I know a couple of other folks that have reliability issues with their 306's.

If I was interested in re-arranging my shelving unit (I'm not)I really think for the $$ the PS Audio 'duo' is the way to go, second fiddle right now is the Marantz SA-10.
