S1 mk2 A3 -

Hi,

What are the significant differences between the 2 speakers- construction, attributes, technology specific to the A or S model?

The reason I am posing this question is because since the S1 was released prior to the A3, it has taken over at the entry rung of Magico floorstanders and would imagine much more trickle down technology from its predecessors.

Just need to be enlightened on the two lines.

S1Mk2 2-way has a tighter, extruded aluminum cabinet, diamond coated tweeter - more refined sound. A3 3-way is closer to a full range speaker built to an aggressive (for Magico) price point - better bass. 'Love is never having to say you're sorry' - get the S3 Mk2.

I got to agree that the S3 is the complete package or pretty much the end game pair presumably. I really can’t thank you enough for the sense-kicking reply- the last bit was a home run. I have been always mulling speaker hunting and always fall into situations that is a trade off- price/availability vs features/performance.
