I just updated my Roon. Didn't even realize it was v1.5. Since I don't currently care about MQA most of the updates are not important. For me Roon is the controller and HQ Player is the play back engine (up sampled to DSD512)! Love Roon though, it has a permanent home in my system.

This is a great day for Roon. FINALLY, we can easily see file information related to MQA etc. This was probably the number one complaint. Also, allowing DSP to work with MQA is a monster improvement. Device setup is easier now too. I have a one year subscription, but I think I will upgrade to the lifetime... I'm happy to give all the support I can to the Roon team, as they continue to improve!

If you determined to upgrade, do it earlier rather than later. My understanding is that Roon will refund the unused months of your current subscription towards a lifetime upgrade.

Thanks Peter for the advice. I will get on that asap. Also, I am a new Lumin S-1 member here, and really appreciate how dedicated you have been to Lumin owners. You are a big part of the reason I made the jump. Cheers

I am a lifetime subscriber to Roon. A very reasonable investment in my view... from conversations I had with them while working for an audio manufacture a while back, I would highly encourage anyone on the fence to make the move... the lifetime may be going away... the yearly sub is better for them :)...

Don’t forget to update the Roon app on your tablet too.

I’m up and running. Still have to say, the MQA search feature in the Aurender is still the best way to search for just MQA albums and artists.

I can’t find a way in Roon 1.5 to search for just MQA albums. If someone finds it, let me know.

Mike, I agree that the search is not perfect, but the "versions" tab is a very nice improvement. check it out.

Here is how to find all your MQA albums in your library:
Click on Albums
Then Focus
Then click of Formats
Select MQA and voila.

You can then create a Bookmark for all your MQA albums. I called mine: “My MQA Albums”.

Please note that Bookmarks are dynamic and you only have to go through this process once. Then whenever you add an MQA album to your library it will automatically add it to your “My MQA Albums” bookmark. Once created, your bookmarks are always up to date!

PS. You can use Focus to create a Bookmark with music from any artist you want. Or composer, or high resolution albums, etc. Focus is the most powerful music search feature I have seen.

Awesome! Thanks.

Last night I used Roon 1.5 for the first time. I played several of my MQA album collection (I now have over 100 MQA albums from Tidal) and the we’re all streaming at 96khz.
My DAC is not an MQA DAC so only software unfold for me.
I am very happy with Roon. I bought the lifetime membership and it continues to bring benefits.
