Hi Steve, chime in some recommendations. I found this: Adtrap unit. I did a little bit of research and read that there is some difficulty. I found this support comment by the company:

"Ads are now being piped using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, and AdTrap has absolutely no way to combat this." They say they are working on it.

Yes Google is pushing everyone to use SSL. Even bulk emailers are encouraged to use SSL in their linkages to mitigate a drop in reputation score.

Google are heavy on policing those who do not use their ad engines and are doing everything they can to protect their own advertising and tracking revenue machines.

It's a losing battle and a privacy issue as well.
