quite a few years back they were all the rage.
I just noticed them again in the "Stereophile" reccomended list.
I know probably most of us here have a pile of them in a drawer somewhere.
Does anyone here use them or have used them.
Have you heard any noticeable differences?

Remember there are 2 types of "caps"; one just keeps the contact clean and the dust out, but there are also shorting plugs/caps, which have more potential to affect the sound (although I have never noticed a difference; like so many things in audio, it may depend on your particular components and system)

I have used the Cardas Caps to good effect. I think it depends on how noisey the environment is but they definitely worked at my prior house.

shorting plugs have been around WAY before it was an audiophile thing. I've tried them on tube gear, SS, sober, stoned of my mind, etc. and didn't detect anything positive or negative. I believe they were useful back in the day on certain tube preamps with unused RCA jacks that would pick up RF.

They're pretty effective against sunlight
