How many of us have a "pet" stack of records? You know your 20-30 favorite titles that get played more often than the few times a year. I'm guilty of a few titles that seem to relax me more than others. I change out maybe half of them over time, say a year or so, but a few always remain in the stack.

I voted the last choice - sleeping with my records. Not quite true - my wife would object! Larry

Sorry I blew that one. :) I think that over 15,000 goes in the last one. ;) I know Mike L. used to be up there but think he thinned the herd recently.

I certainly do when I'm reviewing. Like to have a 6-12 LPs plus 2-4 tapes that I know like the back of my hand. That's why every so often just get burned out and want to listen to music! :( Sometimes I enjoy the music--fancy that--that it's hard to get back into reviewing mode. :)

Somewhere north of a thousand, I'd guess.

See we have at least one book in common: The Sound of America. :)

I'm currently around 350 if you count box sets, doubles and triples as one. If you count each record within those then I'm around 400. I'm picky about what records I pick up. I have a wish list currently down to around 30 or so. After that is fulfilled I'll probably stop for the most part as I also have limited space and am pretty much at max capacity now. I can go one more crate I think and that's it.
I keep my records in "record storage crates" from The Container Store. Each crate can hold around 40 or so records and are stack able. Unfortunately though, 40 records weigh in around 45 pounds or more so it gets daunting getting to the crates under the top one, but for me, well worth the effort. Some things are just better on vinyl.
I'm not anywhere remotely close to the levels of most or all folks here, but I also use a database now days because I was sick of buying duplicates pretty fast and besides, you learn things too when filling in fields and such.
