Question for Caelin regarding adding a Typhon QR in a multichannel home theater system

Here is a little background:

I’ve been using my Triton v3 in my home theatre system for the audio portion (for audio gear) on a dedicated AC line and a Denali 6000S/v2 for the video side (video components) on a separate dedicated AC line.

A new Everest + Omega XC took over the duties of Denali 6000S/v2 + Typhon QR in my separate stereo system. The Everest + Omega are formidable products, but that is subject for a separate post.

Here is my question:

Today I moved the Typhon QR into the home theater room to use in conjunction with my Triton v3 in there. Unfortunately due to physical constraints, the original one meter umbilical cord linking the Triton to the Typhon is not quite long enough (about 6” too short) to link the Typhon to the Triton in my home theater, so I have temporarily hooked it up to the Denali 6000/v2 in there. My dealer has ordered me a 1.75 meter Sigma v2 umbilical to use with the Typhon to Triton. As I recall reading in the past, you have recommend a 1 meter length umbilical as the ideal length for use between the Triton v3 + Typhon QR. Will a 1.75 meter length for the umbilical degrade the performance over a 1 meter length to link the Triton to the Typhon, and if so, in what way?

I can’t answer that, but I would be surprised if it made a noticeable difference. However, I too have a Triton v3 and Typhon QR in my HT for audio, and love it.

Thanks BlueFox. Probably not, but I have a money back return policy if I don’t notice a difference. I’m hoping to hear from Caelin on this one. I’ve been a loyal and repeat customer of Shunyata.

The umbilical for the OG Typhon was hyper critical for length.

The Typhon QR is not that sensitive to length within reason.
A 1.5 or 1.75 meter should be fine but I wouldn’t make it longer than necessary.

What cable model do you plan to use as the umbilical?

Thank you for yor most helpful reply. That’s good news.

I plan to use a Sigma XC v2 umbilical (the new model below the Omega range)with it.
