I recently purchased a digital subscription to HiFi News and have been completely unable to log on to the site. For some reason, it sends you to a "PocketMags" site, where I am requested to enter my order number (93178, if you're out there HiFi News). When I enter that number, it says "Internal IT Error. Please try again later." I have tried again for about a week now and get the same message every time. I have emailed and called them multiple times and get nothing back except "we have received your inquiry and will respond as quickly as possible."

Makes me insane. They took my $$ without question and I haven't heard a thing from them, after multiple attempts. If you're Hi Fi News, consider me a very unhappy camper who regrets having to turn to a public forum for this sort of thing. If you're not, thanks for paying attention to my rant.

I tried a digital subscription many years ago and vaguely remember having issues with my login and password. I think I ended up calling someone but it’s been so long I’m not sure.

I'm assuming you already set up a pocket mags account with the same email that you used to subscribe to hifi news but if not, try that and it should help you access your subscription.

I also have both a digital and paper subscription to HIFI News.

My subscription does not take me to a PocketMag site but I have the same issues with log in. The digital magazine is stored in a (hidden) archive site and everytime I log in the system does not recognize my password. There is a prompt for reset of password, you receive a mail with a link and you then reset the password - remarkably you can reset to the same original password. And then you can log in to the archive site. Comical.

There is no meaningful support.

I have a digital subscription to Stereophile via ZINIO. My experience has been very good. A very easy to use and stable platform.

I realize this doesn’t help your situation but did want to provide a different experience. Maybe Hi Fi News will reconsider their digital provider.

Not sure if it was outing them here, or just coincidence, but I heard from them today and everything worked just fine. Thanks for the rant and the information.

Now, I can read about my new amps.
