Hello Specialists:

I have a problem - I use C50 & Mc452 & CD-550, connected also with power control cables and CD and preamp with data control cable - stereo 3,5mm - as required.

Power switch-on / switch-off works ok.

With described data connection, I would expect, that I would be able to control CD (mainly skip-track function" from my preamp remote control,...

However nothing works !

I have to use preamp remote for preamp functions and cd remote for cd functions :-(

(I exchanged the cables,... etc.)

Any help/ideas most welcome !

Best regards : Miha

p.s. in ALL other ways - I am extremely satisfied with this combo - driving B&W 800D via AQ cabling :-)))

Logitech Harmony Utimate home or other Logitech remote models, works well for me. One remote and it works with mostly all audio systems. Pain to setup but with patience and perseverance it is configurable... Works flawlessly

mihamusic.......You did not mention whether your CD is connected to the unbalanced or balanced inputs or whether you are using CD or CD2 input. Have you performed the Setup process so the CD is assigned to the input you are using? Double check that the data cable is plugged into the Data In on your MCD550 and not the IR In. That is a common mistake and easy to make with the Data jacks so close together. Make sure you press the CD input button on the remote to select you input. Hopefully one of these suggestions will help.

Hi Dan:

Thank you for suggestions.

MCD is connected to balanced input (CD) of C50.

Data cable is connected to "Data IN" on MCD550.

CD input is pressed on remote of C50.

To summarize:

CD plays ok, remote for CD works on CD ok, remote of C50 works on C50 OK,
the only think that does not work is controlling MCD550 with remote of C50 :-(

You are using a "stereo" data connector? Is it pushed in all the way? Try swapping it with another data cable to insure the cable is not bad.

Maybe I should get one of those new fangled universal remotes. What do you think?

It's been awhile since I had McItnosh in my system. You are selecting the CD button on your pre-amp remote before you are trying to control the CD functions.
