Powered Desktop Speakers? KEF LSX or Others?

I'm looking for a pair of powered speakers to add to my desktop.

I'm leaning towards the KEF LSX but was wondering if anyone has other suggestions.

I could run them off an Audioquest Cobalt that's plugged into my Mac so I don't necessarily need all the networking/Roon functionality of the LSX.

I would like to keep them small and not looking to spend more than the 1k'ish price of the LSX.

I bought a set of Audio Engine powered speakers some years back and was happy with the sound quality, better than I expected, and they are still working without issue.
 
I thought about KEF for my office. Ended up just buying a Sonos Play 5 and put it on my mini fridge. It’s more than enough sound at the office.
