A while back Joe had told me that WW power cables work really good on pre-amps, DACs, etc., but tend to make amplifiers sound on the bright side.

I have a couple WW PCs and an AQ PC on my pre-amp, amp and DAC. I have been running the WW on the pre and the DAC and the AQ on the amp. I tried experimenting and putting the WW on the amp and the AQ on the DAC. Subtle difference but definitely there. The AQ on the amp and WW on the DAC was a tad tighter bass and over all fuller bottom end while the WW on the amp gave ever so slightly brightness and not as tight bottom end.

Son of a gun he was right again.... Going into the experiment I thought that there really would be no difference. Well call me surprised, subtle but there.

I seem to get the best balance with Furutech power.

If you want the best performer, Siltech Royal Signature, especially on tube amps for absolutely zero EM/RF emissions.

Furutech Flux-50 for component inline power filtering.

I've got two WW power cords and I agree with Joe, they don't play nice with amps. I am using all Cullen Cable PC's on anything that has a high current draw in the main system. Also made right down the road from you by one of EJ's partners in crime's son. Unlike Furtech and Siltech they fall into your budget range. Another reasonable option is Signal Cable.

Thanks Jack... I am ok for now in cables, but will keep in mind the Cullens or W4S if I need another or want to experiment. As it is now I am running WW on the W4S pre-amp and W4S DAC. I have an AQ on the Goldmund amp, a iPower on the W4S Recovery and W4S standard (very good) cables on the Sub and computer. I got a WW XLR cable going from the DAC to the Pre and Tributaries RCA feeding the amp, oh yea WW USB out of the computer to the Recovery and another short (1 footer) WW out of the Recovery to the DAC. I just got a new set of Kimbers for the speakers... I am fairly happy with the cabling, of course realizing that there is a ton better out there.

Really.... hmmm... maybe I just have never had the opportunity to hear the difference. Dang, now you got me thinking that I might have to sell the WWs :(.... I tell you, with that flat, hard to bend design they are kind of a pain in the butt.... but many people swear by them :(....

I audio dude down the road has the W4S ST-500 mkII, The STP-SE with the mods,DAC-2 DSDse all moving through Revel F208's and he went with the W4S power cables. He noted they were very nice as compared in cost to some other high end cables.. When I got my STP years a go, I didn't even know W4S made cables. Come to think of it all of his cables except the speaker cables are W4S. For speaker cable he is using Acoustic Zen Holograms

His system sounds pretty darn good.
