Pots and pans, yea really. After having the same mixture of generic stainless, Analon, copper coated, Calphon and I don't remember what, for the last 20 years, I went in search of new cookware.
I realize this is an obscure and laughable 1st world issues but, if you like cooking, good pots and pans will change the meals you create.
Laugh if you want and yes, I am listening to music and sipping my second Old Fashion (damn my cooking buddy nephew for introducing me to then last year) but, that is another story.
That said, I found Heston Cookware. It is a company that has produced commercial restaurant equipment and branched of into residential out of doors cooking equipment and pots and pans etc
Their pots and pans are 200 layer of Stainless and Titanium. They heat amazingly even and I now cook at 40% flame level as before. It is difficult tome yourself turn the hear down low enough. Preheating is important to creat a molecular change in the porousness of the metal before adding liquid/oil. They allow food to cook thoroughly and brown amazingly. I have watch family take one, even after instruction and creat a stuck on mess that with a small amount of soaking come off the pan better than any type of non-stick. No comment on PTFE surface.
They are not inexpensive but if you love cooking and need cookware, take a look.
We have since change our out of door grill and burners to Heston. My CPA wife was skeptical at first as $'s spent need some scrutiny. Then again, I am the cook and she is the main cleanup department.
