Having just got the Devialet 200 and been totally blown away with it, the next item on the agenda will be speakers I think.

My room is only 14ft x 23ft and I sit about 11ft from the speakers.
I like most types of music , Classical is the only thing I really dont listen to. Almost all other genres are listened to.

The PMCs are an obvious one as I have the 23s now. The SFs I have not heard and have just read reviews etc/
I know an audition would be a must at this level of spending.

Any advice or guidance appreciated.

Two totally different speakers. The PMC's being very "true" to source. The SF's being more romantic, warmer if you will. Is the 26 a big jump over the 23 or are you just looking for a different flavor?

The frequency response on the 26's is better. Efficiency difference is negligible (2db). Both are SAM ready. Olympica's are prettier (:))

Its just more a case of more cash will be available and hoping I can get a better speaker therefore an upgrade in sound.

I would hope the 26s are a big step up but I have no idea as not heard them. The SFs are gorgeous although my daughter just told me they wont go with the decor

I am just looking for some ideas for now. Also the Usher Dancer 2 as a dealer in my area stocks them

Will be 7k max, hopefully less, really depends what I see

Gotta agree with Mike, pretty different speakers. While I agree the SFs are gorgeous, I suspect if you currently enjoy the PMC sound the SF sound will be quite a shock. I also think the PMCs benefit from SAM more than SF speakers do as I found that speakers that tend to be warm might not need SAM.

I'm very biased toward PMC of course, but I think the Twenty.26 is a BIG step up from the 23s. The dedicated Mid dome is a killer driver and IMO puts the 26 in a different league than the 23.

Yes pounds of course.
I think I am also biased towards PMC too as the 23s are a cracking speaker I think and since I got the 200...well WOW!. They just sound amazing. bass is excellent and they fill the room. Only criticism is they can be a tad bright with certain tracks. But guess you never get perfection. My worry with a larger floorstander is the size of my room, they could be too much. I may even have the perfect speaker for my room size, not sure.

I will sit on the fence for a while anyway until the AIR issues are sorted. AIR is amazing when it works. If it was more reliable I would know that speakers were the next thing to upgrade.

Yes a pal of mine reckons the SFs are maybe not my type of sound. He reckons they are well suited to classical music, but maybe not for me.
