I first purchased the reissue of Peter, Paul & Mary's 1962 debut album in 2014. This reissue was mastered from the original tapes (52 years old!) I kept hearing some low (like 20hz) rumbling. It drove me crazy. I have sent the album back to Chad three times. I spent hours checking the setup on my tables. I tried each copy on multiple turntables, including a friends, the result was the same. On some tracks its worse than others. In the end, I was convinced it was the pressing. After recently receiving my third pressing, with the same result, I broke down and got the SACD version. After one listen, I heard the exact same rumbling! Has anyone experienced the same thing on this pressing? Aside from the rumbling, the sound is wonderful! Blows away all my other copies of this album.

I have an original gold label copy. I'll see whether the rumble is there also. Larry

I just listened to my original vinyl. I don't hear any unusual bass rumble. My subwoofer is vibrating, particularly when Stookey is playing his acoustical bass, but no rumble. My sub is a Velodyne DD18, so it goes well belong 20Hz. Don't have the reissue to compare.

Thanks Larry. I found a mint first pressing and its being shipped. I think when they when back to the tapes in 2013/2014 they were so old, that this was the result. Either that, or it has to do with the R2R they used.
