As if I needed any more positive reinforcement regarding the quality of sound from my XA100.5, John Atkinson says this in his new review of the XA60.5, "I don't have much to say about the Pass Labs XA60.5 other than this: It is the best-sounding amplifier I have ever used". Wow!

Steve...congrats on owning a great amp but of course you know the 0.8 version of the amp is coming out. Strap in for even more delicious Class A goodness. :D

Cyril, yeah I know, but there are other things in my system that need addressing. As we know, it is never done! I've got a new turntable and tonearm on order, that is expected to ship by the end of January. Of course, I'll probably add another cartridge to my collection; can't have a new turntable and tonearm and not have a new cartridge! Then, it's a new phono amp to replace my trusty BAT. Not that there's anything wrong with the BAT, but I'm trying to remove all tubes from my system. Besides a Pass phono amp will look awesome next to my Pass preamp! New acoustical treatments are definitely needed, too! My GIK stuff doesn't really match and I really like the looks of some other treatments, I think the brand is Vicoustic and is sold by Jeff.

Wow………that's not the Steve I remember / knew ! ………..Jolida, BAT, tube headphone amp, M/L Aerius.

So Steve, what new TT / tonearm combo do you have coming in ?

Steve - big congrats! You are in for some wonderful magic from those amps. I love their footprint too. Just the right size. Loads of power. Glorious mids and highs. Big congrats!

Nelson Pass is a genius!

Mike, there may have been a misunderstanding. I have owned my Pass gear for a couple, maybe three years already. I just posted the latest JA review quote. I agree, Nelson is an amp genius.

Dave, I was all psyched up to get the Kuzma Stabi M with the 4point arm. That is, until the price hit me. I felt I didn't need to spend $24K (after discount) on a new analog system, so I started looking around. There are so many great turntables out there and they all have their plusses and minuses, but I wanted value for the money and a system that can grow, as in adding additional arms, etc. I think I must have checked out most everything out there and ended up ordering a TTWeights GEM. To me, it pushes all the right buttons and it punches well beyond its price point. Since the tonearm pod is not attached to the plinth, I can use any tonearm length I want. I like their business model, which saves the consumer lots of money and the fact that they are an engineering firm and use aerospace tolerances in the manufacture of their products.

PS. I intend to keep the tubed headphone amp.
