Outstanding Wilson Audio Dealer - The Audio Salon

Larry introduced me Maier when he was visiting Paragon in Ann Arbor last year. He and I had a good discussion on audio. A very nice gentleman.

I was at an airport in Houston waiting for a connecting flight to South Texas after having heard an absolutely amazing system in Austin. A stranger approached me to inquire where I had purchased the LPs in my tote bag. The stranger was Maier who happened to be on the same flight on his way to install some Wilson speakers. We had a wonderful visit on the flight. I concur with Still-One. Maier is very knowledgeable and a gentleman. Thanks to Maier, his client and I are now friends and have shared a number of listening sessions.

I purchased my Wilson Sasha from Maier (among other bits of equipment/ cables etc) and he has been to my house a few times to help dial-in my system. He is a true gentleman and a pleasure to do business with. I appreciate his great advice and awesome system setup skills!

I second the very positive comments that others have made about Maier. Back in 2010, when I was figuring out how best to do my massive ripping project (over 10,000 albums), we had a shootout (Maier was one of the attendees) and I determined the best ADAC was the Pacific Microsonics Model Two. Unfortunately, it was also the one that was not obtainable. I was working with my consultant, Tim Marutani, and he enlisted Maier's help. About three months later, I got the great news, Maier had found two Model Two's sitting at Warner Bros studios. I got one of them and Maier has the other at his Audio Salon. There were only about 150 or so made and they are preciously owned by recording and mastering engineers and studios, with a few in private hands. Thanks to Maier, I have one of them.

Maier's shop, The Audio Salon, in Santa Monica's Bergamot Station, has one of the best acoustically designed listening rooms, a joy to visit. If your significant other is not interested in spending time listening to audio equipment, Bergamot Station has an assortment of very nice art galleries and other shops (not a typical mall atmosphere) to while a way the time.

I can play. If by "hideous" you mean "great", I agree.

Post removed at jap's request.

I was going to mention that jamming rear-ported speakers close to front walls and corners is always a recipe for sonic success...but was so concerned about getting the same sort of request, I had to think twice before cheerfully hitting "submit reply."

You never seem to miss the opportunity to make a negative comment about a system you've never heard.

I've been in the room when the Alexia were setup and also at the Alexx event. It's a superb sounding room!
The photo's may be a little deceiving ... they're not that close in reality.
We all have different personal tastes and I'm assuming Jim's comments were just how he likes a system setup.
Count me as a huge fan of Maier and his ear /setup skills.
