whats the overall opinion on forward sounding speakers with long term ownership? i was enjoying the taste of some 802 d3's today but i wonder if I would enjoy the forward presentation after the weekend romance has ended? I only listened for about 30 minutes bc I couldnt really stand being in magnolia much longer.

If speakers are too forward, they won't be in the system for long UNLESS someone has some high frequency hearing loss and for them they sound great!

Typically I find forward sounding speakers are the result of a tweeter with excessive ringing.

That being said, we cannot forget the affect of the room, cables, source, amp, etc on the overall sound.

on a side question: mike does you affiliation line keep getting longer or did u just increase the font size?

I've been investing. It's getting longer. I'm pretty much done. A few more tops...it might be also time to do the old GE/Jack Welch trick as well.
