Once you click on the speaker icon (arrow pointing toward it), the devices should show up under either direct or network devices. In your case, network devices. As soon as you click the device you select, the sound out of the iPad should stop and Qobuz connect should be playing through your stereo (provided it is on and on the correct input).

This was through my laptop screen. The iPad might have a different layout or location of some things, but it's basically the same on every device. They are just configured differently IME on differing devices. I hope this helps.

Oh, make sure that both the device and the Lumin are operating on the same IP address.

In Qobuz app, play something, tap the speaker icon and select Lumin.

If you have trouble discovering Qobuz Connect device, please follow this troubleshooting guide to Qobuz Connect Discovery.

- Make sure you have a required Lumin model for Qobuz Connect: X1 P-series U-series T3X T3 T2 D3
- Make sure you're running Lumin Firmware 19.1 or later
- Make sure Qobuz Connect setting is turned on in Lumin app (with the latest Lumin app version)
- Make sure your Qobuz app is version 9 or later. Qobuz app 8.6.x and before does NOT support Qobuz Connect.

On Qobuz app device:
- Disable Firewall, especially on desktop
- Disable VPN. On Apple systems, uninstall all VPN apps (not only disable)
- On Apple systems, disable Limit IP Address Tracking
- Grant all permissions required by Qobuz app, especially Local Network on Apple systems
- Swipe away Qobuz app
- On Android, then Force Stop Qobuz app
- Go into Flight mode (preferred), or turn off WiFi
- Exit from Flight mode, and resume WiFi
- Wait for WiFi connection
- Launch Qobuz app

On Lumin app:
- If you are having Qobuz Connect discovery trouble, turn off Lumin Streaming (AirPlay) and Tidal Connect.
- Turn off Qobuz Connect, wait for a few seconds, then turn it back on
- If it still doesn't work, wait for a minute, then power cycle the Lumin hardware
- If all else fails, re-enable Lumin Streaming (AirPlay) and Tidal Connect. Check that your network infrastructure supports these discovery protocols using iOS AirPlay feature, and Tidal app (requires a paid Tidal account).
- Especially if you have multiple Lumin devices, rename the Lumin device(s) to something different

Holy cow! I am an old man (72) I don't think I can do all that.

I seem to have the Qobuz app running on my iPad, but it doesn't function as well as the Lumin app did.
No volume control, I can't find my connected hardrive connected to the Lumin X1 via usb with all my recorded tracks.

Why can't the Lumin app function as it used to? What is wrong with the Lumin app that it keeps freezing up?
And/or if need be, in conjunction with Qobuz?
It seems when Qobuz is selected on my iPad it is all Qobuz. The Qobuz Track list is funky.

Did I say I'm not happy?

Come on Ozzy. Your 72 not 92.

<snip> There also may be a hardware fault or not having enough memory with the Samsung. <snip>

Let's revisit this for a second. @wklie - did the new version create a demand for more memory, versus the old version?

@ozzy - What is the model number of the iPad? I know I bought an older one and it has severe limitations, and I believe that the support for that model is also non-existent at this point. Maybe Peter can verify that memory isn't an issue on either the Samsung or the new (used) iPad....and at least eliminate that as the cause.

Also, has there been ANY recent changes to the location of any wi-fi devices, channels used, security, new furniture placement or new wall being installed in between the router and the system? You *may* have the same issue I did.....no hardware problem, but a wi-fi problem. Even lowering the height of the router can obstruct the signal from time to time, especially with longer distances and obstacles from the router to the system.

Oh, one more question. Are you using a repeater to get your signal to the iPad/Samsung?

Tom

tretiez3,

What is the model number of the iPad? Sorry, but I can't find one other than it says Samsung. It has a 12" screen.

Are you using a repeater to get your signal to the iPad/Samsung? No

Also, has there been ANY recent changes to the location of any wi-fi devices, channels used, security, new furniture placement or new wall being installed in between the router and the system? No

Thank you for hanging in there for me it is quite frustrating.

No worries, been in your position before. It bites and is EXTREMELY frustrating, so I feel your pain and aggravation. I dealt with my issue for a year after years of flawless operation from a BS Node2, then I upgraded to an Auralic G1. That's when the issue reared it's ugly head, in spectacular fashion. All I could get was *maybe* a half of a song, if I was lucky. It turned out that I had a wi-fi communication issue (due to obstacles and the distance need to travel) that a mesh network permanently took care of, but that doesn't appear to be the case in your circumstances.

Anyhoo, to find the system information on the Samsung tablet, find the settings icon and click it (looks like a gear). Scroll down and tap "About tablet" or "About device." The exact wording might vary slightly depending on your Android version, but it's usually at the bottom of the main Settings menu.

Doing that will give you all of the info about the device itself, model number, serial number, Android version, RAM and storage, along with other detailed info about he unit. The RAM and storage may be listed under "Device specifications" or "Hardware information."

The iPad is similar, but it may have different paths and wording to get you the same information. Open the gear icon, go to "General", then "About". The model name is the marketing name (for instance, "iPad Air, 3rd generation"). The model number should start with an "A", followed by 4 digits. But all of the same information should be located in this area about the device.

Knowing these things may help Peter and others to eliminate or pinpoint a potential issue with a hardware fault or memory.

Samsung Tablet
Galaxy Tab SE FE Model name SM-T733 Android Version 14 One U1 version 6.1

I take it I must first delete the 8.0.4 version?

There are multiple permissions required and settings change from Android OS before you are allowed to manually install an apk. If all those are done but still fail, then you'll need to uninstall the original app first before installing the apk.

I also tested Lumin app 8.0.4 (current latest) on Samsung tablet S8 (One UI 6.1.1 Android OS 14) with 8GB RAM for several hours - foreground, background, screen on, screen off. It never froze once, the progress circle moves, album art updated, track metadata updated, pause / next buttons are working.
