Metallica dropped a new album 11/18, Hardwired To Self-Destruct. It's a double disc, available on LP as well. They released a couple videos ahead of the release, Moth To A Flame and Atlas Rising, the songs were really good and gave me hope for the album. I streamed it today for a listan and the entire album is really good, I mean some I like better than others but I didn't skip any. I think for Metallica to release so much before the album dropped and to allow it to be streamed, they must have realized fans were thinking they were over. The new album in my opinion is one of the strongest of their career.
So you know where I'm coming from, my favorite album is Ride The Lightning, followed by In Justice For All, yes, I did like that album, a lot. I also have their big album that has been come to be known as "the black album", I'm not proud of it but there's a couple songs I like, and I also have Master of Puppets. I liked a few songs later in their career like the cover of Turn The Page and Whiskey In The Jar O, but not enough to purchase anything.
Hardwired if I had to make a comparison probably comes closest to Ride The Lightning with catching hooks and riffs. Hardwired features some good lead guitar too. The lyrics probably won't win them a Nobel Prize but it's a good fun Rock & Roll time.
The videos I mentioned are on YouTube if you want a taste of the new album. Anyone else hear or sample let me know what you think.
