New Media Room

Very nice Len! Who helped you with the room or did you do it yourself?

Thanks Myles. Acoustic Frontiers provided the room dimensions, the design drawings and parts recommendations for the wall system. AF also has provided initial plans for room acoustic panels (e.g.; tuned membrane absorbers, hybrid absorber/diffusers, and thermoformed plastic diffusers) for the side and front walls. I'm unsure how far I'm going to go with the acoustic treatments beyond what I have now. I'm going to listen and enjoy music for awhile before I decide how much further to go.

In my limited experience, incremental room treatments are always best.

Nice job on the room design! :congrats:

What are the dimensions of the room and what size is the screen?

I have a May 1 construction start.
The finished room dimensions chosen to facilitate final acoustic design is 19'-6 1/2"L x 15'-3 3/8"W x 11'H

DA-LITE 16:9 Tensioned Contour Electrol 67.5 X 120" Viewing Area

Good luck with your project.

Thanks for the kind replies everyone. It's been a long arduous journey. I'll keep you posted how it turns out.

Thanks for the data Len. I'm jealous of your height. I'm in a basement and challenged with 7' height. I also fully understand the long and arduous journey.

The floating wood floors were installed today. Visually the room looks larger than before and the acoustics are improving.

Len, congrats on the room. I know I really miss my dedicated room in my old house, it makes so much difference, especially when you are tuned to your own space. Just a preference of mine, take it with a grain of salt, i'd take a concrete over a floating floor.
