MB100 Media Bridge
MHA100 Headphone Apmplifier
MXA70 Integrated Audio System

...pics and details to follow.

MB100 media bridge
The MB100 media bridge allows streaming from Pandora© to SiriusXM© to Spotify© and more. The MB100 also allows guests to stream music directly from their wireless devices and features cloud access for backup and synchronization across multiple systems. The TuneBridgeTM icon will find the original album from just one track and Spotify can serve up the entire album in seconds. It has a solid state 64GB drive housing the OS with an additional 1TB hard drive for file storage. Controlled via an iOS/Android app, web browser, TV UI and/or front-panel display.

MHA100 headphone amplifier
The new MHA100 is McIntosh’s first dedicated headphone amplifier which features four digital inputs, while the headphone section uses McIntosh-designed and hand-wound impedance matching Autoformers. The MHA100 is more compact than previous McIntosh amps, making it more desktop-friendly and it also features a 50-watt stereo speaker output.

MXA70 integrated audio system
Featuring a compact yet fully functional 50-watt stereo amplifier and a pair of two-way desktop speakers, the MXA70 is an all in one system. The speakers feature drivers housed cast aluminium cabinets and there are connections for a powered subwoofer available. The MXA70 also includes the same dedicated headphone amplifier found in the new MHA100.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm a little disappointed in the 2014 announcements from our friends at Mc. Was hoping for more two channel and less lifestyle. Oh well...I guess they have their products where they want them.

...I'm here in Vegas, press badge in hand, waiting for a cab. Ready for some serious geekdom!

It does sound a bit thin.

Or They already have the best and can't come up with better one ( just like the one in your avatar 601) ;)

For anyone wondering, the MB100 contains the same DAC chipset that is in the McIntosh D100. It is also NOT DSD compatible.

....there is definitely a big push for DSD here at the show....but vinyl is also everywhere and the preferred medium of choice for many vendors.

The 2301's were sounding as lovely as I remember them.

So I guess there's nothing earth shattering in the amp department.

For $2,500 the D100 sounded pretty dang good w the MC275s.

Except for when you get to A/B it to............... just about anything else.

Well, from the rear panel pics of that MB100, it is undoubtedly a rebadge of the Mirage Media Server with an add-in of the SabreDAC (if Mike is indeed correct). /bleh

I went back again today to the McIntosh room. OK, I just don't get the MB100 nor any of the other very expensive "we want to appeal to the young headphone wearing 20 something" new products. I love McIntosh, but what the heck are they doing? Heck, this year I would have settled for the fancy new binding posts on the 2301's (and calling it 2302). I made some suggestions to Ron, but he wasn't open to any of them. Oh well....I guess they are a heck of a lot smarter than me and obviously know something I don't know. A quad balanced 1.2kw? A new modern SSP - MX160? A separate phonostage? But I guess a couple of boom boxes, a pair of $2000 headphones that look eerily similar to Grado Headphones and a $6500 computer (that MIGHT be worth $300-500 in parts) is a better plan.

I just can't figure out why they would want to even try to play in the sandbox of boom boxes, headphones and computers. If CES tells us anything its that the market for those products are SATURATED already by young, innovative, hip companies.

Just my two cents.

Mike,

I suppose the simplest answer to your question is that McIntosh is not directly competing with those young, innovative, hip companies. They're McIntosh. They don't need to.
