Just gave it a listen. Sonics are excellent, with the exception of a much needed de-esser.

The music is a bit blah, with a few track exceptions. I felt on many tracks, she was just going through the motions. Has she lost her voice a little? Don't know.

The music just lacked the soul and the emotion she has showed in the past.

What do you guys think?

I couldn't even make it all the way through the first time. As usual with her the recording is well done and the other musicians are top notch but just plain boring otherwise. If I want to listen to her I just put on Live in Paris.

I didn't purchase her last album and I'm not purchasing this one either. Talking through lyrics isn't singing in my opinion. Her voice, if you can call it that, and her emotional connection to the songs are lack luster, and that's putting it mildly. Diana Krall is a wonderful jazz pianist and arranger. Too bad she doesn't capitalize on that more. Her contributions to arranging and playing on the Paul McCartney album Kisses On The Bottom are excellent. That's where her talent is showcased, not singing. Nope, I won't waste money on this release.

Agreed. Boring music. I could get through the whole album. I listened on Tidal HiFi and the recording quality was pretty good.

I listened or started listening to it, got to L-O-V-E and couldn't take it anymore. So burnt out on the sound of her voice these days. Its like a slow oscillating fan trying to move cigarette smoke in a little backrooms bar. Its not working.

It arrived on its release date but I haven't had time to open it and give it a listen. Wondering if I should just return it? That's too bad...

Ouch. I can imagine a night that he had to spend on the sofa in the den starting with Elvis saying while they were making dinner -- 'Darling, it's your voice.....it's like a slow.....'
