Great to see how Avantgarde continues to evolve their horn speaker designs.
Agreed and I love the look of the new Trio’s….just not sure how I feel about all active.

I love the look too, but seems like tubes still need to be in the equation for my taste.
At least they offer a passive or an active option.
I prefer tubes to any SS on the AG. Admittedly, they can do some interesting things when the speakers are active, so I’ll reserve judgement until I hear them.

Will be interesting to see how the new design and technologies trickle down to other models.

In some ways yes, in others perhaps no! Avantgarde started building their 3 basic designs Trio, Duo and Uno in the last 1990s, yet they've never changed their horns' design, material or dimensions even up to the new G3 series. The only change (as far as I can detect) is that the horns are now screwed into their enclosures rather than being bolted in. Is it just by careful design 25 years ago that Holger got these dimemsions and designs spot on in the first place (despite not previously being a speaker designer) and finds there is no need to change the horns over these decades? The enclosures, drivers and amps have been changed, often quite significantly but never the horns themselves. OK I'm wrong - the Uno's mid horn has shrunk a little but that's all. Just curious. Peter
Peter, as he explains in the video, they haven’t changed that because it’s “physics”.
Ha-ha! As Cristine Keeler would say "He would say that, wouln't he".
If "physics" was so clear, then every horn speaker would have the same horn design as Avantgarde.
