Mark, glad to hear it turned out well. Those xlr type Ethernet connections on the ediscreation look stout. Im looking forward to hearing more from you. I was thinking about the melcos100 because I could leverage my Illuminati lps with it.

That sounds like a good plan as you already have an outstanding clock and LPS.
When you consider the cost of the EC with an up-market power cord it is not much different then the Melco.

Hans did a thorough review, but personally, I'm not a fan of putting anything with chokes, coils, or inductors into a digital signal path.

I just wanted to point out that RJ 45 sockets in Ethernet devices such as routers and switches have isolating transformers at their inputs and outputs, which are made from coils of wire, and some more advanced switches have chokes, or inductors. So you can’t get away from them.
