I've been playing vinyl since old enough to hold one I suppose but I have not owned many tables, I had a Pioneer PL-51 I bought in high school and kept it for about 20 years or more, my first ear opening experience was hearing a Rega which led me to buy my current table a P3, now using a Dynavector 10x5. My system as upgraded beyond the P3 and I'm looking to upgrade. I like my Rega and it would make sense to move up the line but dealers in the area who carry them have grown a bit cold on the line for some reason. I can also get Clear Audio but the dealer has some issue with the stock arms and the arms coming on the tables drive the price up. My serious contenders are Pro-ject Perspex, Music Hall 9.1 or 10.1, possibly a VPI which seems to have fans but I don't hear such good things about customer service. I also have access to Well Temper and Kuzma but they re by appointment only and I haven't been able to get in, I feel I should only work so hard to give some one my money. So any experience with these brands or dispute anything I've heard would be appreciated. Other brands are available online I've looked at but I did want local support and set up. I thought the Avid Ingenium looked interesting. I really don't know which way to go which is keeping me from moving on an upgrade.

What's the budget? Not that it matters, we like to select all budgets anyway lol!!
Are you ready to make your phonostage/table and cartridge all match in quality?

Based on your price range (I assume)

I think the VPI Scout is right in the wheelhouse

VPI SCOUT 2 & JMW-9 at Music Direct
Scout 2 is nice I owned an original scout but upgraded to the classic platter so it's like a 2
And I changed the 9t arm to the 9s which is a little better wiring in it. It's a great setup.
I was just looking at cartridges the shelter 501 mk 2 is only like $1000 what a great cart for that money.

all good recommendations so far, as Steve asked….what's your budget ? do you insist on new ? is it just the table or table, arm, cart and phono-pre ?

Learn to do the set-up (table/arm/cartridge) yourself. It takes a little study and patience, but it opens the world of used gear, and swapping out things at will without feeling like you have to rely on the 'experts' (a disappearing breed) to do it for you.

My budget is $2k to $3k give or take. I found another dealer who has some tables on display in a nice drive, he liked the Concept, if I like what I hear I could stretch to a Performance DC. I wish I could swing a REAL 101 like Petro85 :). The dealer I was talking about actually has one on display, he says he uses an Ortofon arm and currently a Lyra cart.

I really liked the "concept" as well. I heard at the show and it was best bang for the buck !

Here is the pic I took from the show

Yes thanks the Merrill is spinning sweet!! Go hear the tables he has. See of you like any.
I liked robs idea of the scout 2 or a little stretch would be a classic1
But if you went scout 2 and shelter 501 cart , you would come in on budget and have a great setup.and a table that can be upgraded down the road. Or check audiogon there was a few great tables for sale couple weeks ago when I was helping a friend shop for a table. All in your pricerange. I was liking a ja Michelle gyrodec se I saw there. Those are cool.
