I have a consistent problem where the Ayre DAC don’t always recognize the Aurender N10 wired by USB cable. It’s better when I turn on the DAC first but still not always works. Other inputs such as AES or coaxial don’t have this problem. I need the USB to listen to DSD128.

I have approached both manufacturers for 3 months now but none have workable solutions.
Before I give up on this pairing, have anyone else experienced such issues?

Borrow another DAC and eliminate one or the other. We have used the N10 on the QX5 Twenty with zero issues. Also, try another USB cable. Even a crapper.

Mike, did the Ayre play DSD via USB?

Aurender is Linux based and isn't DSD compatible with some DAC's, such as mine. Aurender has great support and working on the issue although they make no promises as it's a difficult task with a DAC where hardware can't be changed.

I don’t recall. Just do DoP. I know Charlie wasn’t a big fan of DSD.
