It wasn't Audio related, better yet it was the opposite....Silence and Darkness.
Remember the movie "Altered States"? Think back to the Sensory Deprivation-Iscolation Tanks that William Hurt entered and then changed states.
We have a place an hour away in Marlton New Jersey called Float SNJ. They have built 3 themed rooms, not tiny tanks, to do exactly the same thing.
You enter the room to a changing area, then step into the Roman Shower, which has a sliding door to the approximately 8x10 foot pool with about 18 inches of water with massive amounts of Epson Salts. It is not only good for the body, it forces anyone to float effortlessly, and it was the first time I have ever floated.
After you get into the pool area, you slide the door shut. There are dim colored lights and underwater sound that you can control with 2 buttons on the wall. Once you get comfortable, you turn off the sound and lights and enjoy an hour or hour and a half session all by yourself in the pitch dark.
My wife is a Meditation Instructor and we both really enjoyed this experience. We came out feeling so good for the whole day and slept like a baby also. Recommended for anyone not afraid of the dark or claustrophobic.
Here is the link that has pictures, description, and benefits. They use it for brain injury recovery and more.
