Who took that photo of my room? Sweet! But does look like a little lonely in there.

Looks like the room is situated directly above a laboratory / torture chamber!

So what is it bob ?

I think the weirdness might have to do with the severity of toe in of the Vivid speakers which looks like it goes beyond aiming at the listener. I think this is a system at a Japanese dealer and the amplifiers are from, believe it or not, Nakamichi. I hear it's a pretty amazing sounding system.

So what is it bob ?

Good question Paul; here are my overall impressions:

- Lavish; room's size (huge) and shape, all the audio gear, and several pair of loudspeakers (their shape too), plus the front soundstage's overall dominating color with those green shelves.
- Tape cassette deck (at the top)!
- Old front projector mounted high on the ceiling with those three 'tube' lights (blue, red, green).
- Viewing area (front screen display) is at the rear, and only one viewing chair (stylish too; the chair).
- Again, the room is fantastic (architecture), and with that stained window glass. ...I love it!
- The carpets are beautiful. The wood floor is splendid.
- The room (with all there is in it) is at the same time retro and modern.
- The computer area, on the right side of the listening area.
- That high ceiling, with those curved angles, the woodwork, the beams, the columns, ... amazingly inviting, and gothic.
- Seems to be the perfect place to have a major and serious organ (musical instrument) with high pipes.
- The front wall; its practical (acoustical) design.
- The gear (all silver color); the amps, their shape (round with those heatsinks).
- Again, the rear viewing area; very unusual.
- Weird in a cool sense, very cool sense; and uncommon, and strange in its concept of audio and visuals.

* Different! ...Esthetics mixed with retro and modern and gothic decors at the service of sounds and visuals.
The overall atmosphere is peacefully dark and grandiose and impressive. ...Weird, isn't it? :)

You certainly have different point of view.

Love that room exactly for what you mentioned Bob, very grandiose. If it was mine I would just take the clutter out, ht and computer, and make it a dedicated 2 channel room. Be curious to hear the room acoustics though, could be marvelous or horrible.
