What music is great to demonstrate the quality of your components in shows? Wondering if there are lists of tracks that could be played.

One example track that is used quite often: Tin Pan Alley (Aka roughest place in town) by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double trouble

Keith Don't Go by Nils Lofgren

Ride Across the River by Dire Straits

I've Got You Under My Skin by Diana Krall

Come Away with Me by Norah Jones

Doh! 😜

Honestly, if i hear any of these again at an audio show, I'm going run screaming down the hallways.

If you want a good playlist, Andrew Jones' ELAC playlist at Qobuz is quite good:

There is a long long list of show songs you can play.

But, I prefer to play the music I like. One of my manufacturers always wants to play the “bing bong” audiophile cr…..uhhh….stuff. I put on the Brothers Johnson, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson and anything that I want to play. Play the music that gets peoples toes tapping. I don’t want to hear that weirdo bing bong crap. I don’t care how good it sounds. This has definitely been a bone of contention for me.

Let me tell you, I went to the Synergistic Research/T+A/TAD room at CAF a month or so ago and Dave from SR was playing some great music. Proper music, not bing bong crap. I loved that room.

If you’re trying to impress the head: play the audiophile cr…stuff.

If you’re trying to win their heart: play the songs you love.

Philip O'Hanlon always had great music in his rooms.

I find this track tough to listen to on a fair number of systems/speakers. That's why I use it. Speakers that are too "much" in the mids render her voice on this track rather jarring to my ears.

Yep, I get it. But, I've just heard this track so much for the better part of the last 20 years that...sorry, no more.

Time to move on! 😜 😀
