I decided to take the Pink Faun plunge. This is quite a investment on my part. But, what got my interest is/was the Roon Core server/Steamer approach. It also gives me some concerns of having just one box do all the work for my streaming. I just stream from Roon with a lifetime subscription using Tidal and Qobuz. I've been using a Roon Nulcleus One with my HiFi Rose 150b this past year. And I have to admit my system has sounded really good up to this point. But, seeing, reading and watching some review and impressions got my attention. I contacted Mike and with his guidance and help I ordered the Pink Faun Scion. It's been running for about two days now and I just keep listening and hearing why the praise.
My first impressions was how quiet the background was. I've read that the PF is more analog like. The last analog system I recently heard used a Revox reel to reel, Dolmann TT and the new Wadax streamer DAC. The analog side had a very noticeable quiet background and revealed so much more detail. The Wadaz was and is a very good streamer system. Also way beyond my budget and needs. The Pink Faun Scion has a lot of what I heard from the analog side. A very quiet background and the detail is just brought out more than I expected.
This time my gut was right. I'm spending the time going through my library of favourites and anything that comes my way.
