modem-router placement question

I have an Xfinity combo switch router/modem. It is approx 25 feet from my Lumin and I currently use a Supra ethernet cable to connect it.
A friend just purchased a Nordost ethernet cable and really likes it as it has provided a nice SQ increase.
This got me thinking of maybe trying a better ethernet cable but at 7 meters they are out of the question.
So perhaps moving my router closer to my system might be an option. Would just require some coax, then I could use a short (er) ethernet cable.
But I was told that you can't place a modem/router close to a tube based system. Has anyone heard of this?
Any "flies in the ointment" in my idea of moving the modem/router?

If you don't mind the slightly added cost, get two of those Jameco LPS.

Dip switches - the defaults should work, but in theory these should be the technically correct choices:

TP_DIS: the TP port works at Manual Mode (change it to AUTO only if manual/FORCE does not work)
TP_100M: the TP port works at 100Mbps
TP_FDX: the TP port works at full duplex mode
LFP_ON: the LFP function is on.
