McIntosh MC402: purchased and on its way!

Grats guys... love McIntosh (being from Binghamton and all)... wish I had the space (and the wallet) for a full rack... :)

I have not seen the factory forever. The area of town where it is at is my old stomping grounds.... fairly boring area of town but.... well there is this one amazing factory there :)....

They still make the equipment by hand in Binghamton. Quit large factory at this point :)... Have not been back to see it in many years though...

Hi does anybody know why I'm not hearing music when I plug in the headphone jack into the c2500? The front display shows my source which is Oppo and right below it says headphone with volume level up but no music!!!

I assume you have selected the output as headphones.... Is there an impedance selection on the C2500? There is on mine, but that may not be the case on all units. :dunno:

Roma.......There is no headphone impedance selection capability on the C2500. The headphone output is designed to operate with headphones impedances between 20 and 600 ohms.

Are you pressing the MUTE button to turn off the speakers while listening to the headphones? If so, you are also muting the headphone output. In order to mute the MAIN output of the C2500 and have the headphone jack remain active you must press and hold the MUTE button for 4 seconds. Your C2500 display will then show HEADPHONE and your speakers will be muted. To turn the preamp outputs to your amp back on press and hold MUTE again for 4 seconds. If you simply press MUTE and do not hold the button in for 4 seconds, the speakers and the headphone will be muted.

Double D

I did all that but eventually I figured that I forgot to increase the output volume on the Oppo which I set to 0 on start up's [emoji51]

Silly me.

Roma.......That damn operator error will get you every time. I have made quite a few myself over the years. Glad you got it figured out.

Hi

How has the Mcintosh MC 402 worked out? I see you are using a pair of Vienna Acoustics Kiss speakers. I am looking for an amp to match this and would like your view on this. Do you think the MC 402 is a good match? My preamp is a Cary SLP 05.

Thanks

Mgard, you post reviving my original post about the 402 purchase reminded me to update my equipment signature. Thanks!

It is good to see you posting again, I missed your comments. By the way you have an awesome system.
