Did McIntosh announce any new products at Munich? I know the MX160 is rumored. Anything?

Mike, I have been chomping at the bit about this. You and I talked about Munich and McIntosh months ago... I've read and heard zip.

Yeah. I guess they are still getting sorted out with the new ownership and stuff. Not sure. I thought we may see a new statement preamp, maybe an updated 1.2kw along the lines of the amazing 601's.

Don't know...[emoji9]

The MC501's were released in 2005, the MC601's around January of 2011. There's still a couple of years before the next version comes out. :) I would like to see a tube based amp with about 30-35 watts come out from Mc. That would get me to look at them again.

Bring back the 3D build quality, McIntosh. I hope that MX160 WIP is a 2 or 3 box reference solution... (Controller, DSP, multi-ch analog pre-amp).

If they did a multi-ch version of the C1000, that would be awesome!

Too bad McIntosh never asks us! Heck, I would settle for the awesome new speaker terminals on the 2301's.

Maybe a KT150 amp too!

Yeah the MC2301 terminals aren't must chop for spades. More the reason why I am a banana guy. :superbanana:

Perhaps Lukasz can work in with McIntosh. After all, they seem to be better at OEM licensing core technology nowadays. That's what disappoints me. McIntosh haven't grown past their traditional core skill sets. Great at building analogue but their digital is not at the same standard levels.

Man, there's so much that I want to say about this... but I digress...

Please do offer your opinion. It's all friendly here. I'm a McIntosh fan, just look at my equipment list...but I don't mind calling it as I see it.

The C1000/500 should be the next preamps in the line up to be replaced. The interface needs to catch up to the C50/2500 menu/setup/settings.

MX160: it needs to happen- and I like the three box modularity; especially the multichannel C1000 idea. I bought my first blu ray music disc and I'm convinced that this is a viable way to enjoy music. (Storm Corrosion- Amazon.com: Storm Corrosion: Storm Corrosion (Special Edition CD+Blu-Ray) (Limited Edition): Music).

Core values are what McIntosh does best.
