Received the MC452 yesterday and only have a few hours on it. In a very early impression the 1st thing that was so obvious was the very wide soundstage and voices way out front. At 1st I thought I had my surround sound on. :shocking: Sound is also very dynamic.

Enough for now since like I said only have a few hours listening. More to come!

Huge Congratulations Paul. Give it 50-100 hours and enjoy. It's a great amp and looks awesome!

Thanks Joe and Mike!!

Still love my Mc207 and will use it for center and rear channels but I was not prepared for how much better the MC452 already sounds. I can only imagine what it will sound like after 100 hours.

Paul.......Congratulations. The McIntosh MC452 is a wonderful power amplifier. It will take approximately 120+ hours for it to settle into its permanent voice. Mine sounded good the first few hours then became rather sharp and forward for days, then gradually settled into a smooth and uniform presentation of the entire frequency range without overemphasis on the upper midrange. Once I got passed 120 hours is has been smooth sailing. I now use my MC452 to power the left and right front speakers in my home theater surround system. It is a remarkable amplifier with power galore. Happy listening.

Thanks Dan! The MC452 will power the left and right speaker listening 2 channel and also in my 5.1 setup with my MC207 for center and rear channels.
