MB100: Playable Audio Formats

I have identified the following MB100/Autonomics acceptable playable audio formats:

.aif, .aifc, .aiff, .au, .cda, .flac, .m4a, .m4p, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .rmi, .snd, .wav, .wma, .wpl

From what I have read, bit rates beyond 44.1 kHz/48 kHz/96 kHz/192 kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit resolution are not supported - at this time? The MB100 incorporates the D100 DAC, yes? But, there is another logic board to consider. Is there some room to play around? I.E. is this a software [firmware limit], hardware or both limitation? Is the MB100 DAC a technical mirror of the D100?

I am curious to try and load a DXD and DSD and listen/see what happens.

Anyone else try any other file formats on the MB100?

*Note: viewable photo file format types are. .bmp, .jpg, .png, .tif

I am planning to buy a MB100 to complete a full Mcintosh set up. However, as I have very little knowledge on how to make this work, and having read all your wonderful posts on this, would like to seek your help and advise how I can port over some of the FLAC filesI had in my Meridian Sooloos.

Your advise will help me make a quick decision on this device.

Oh Dear, if so, I don't know who else I can turn to with regards to the copy over of the FLAC files I have on my Meridian Sooloos should I chose to buy the MB100 to complete my vintage set up. Sigh! ..... Anyway, thanks for the update "audio.bill".

I'm back. I may be able to help. Can you post a detailed description what it is you are want/need to do and I will share what ever knowledge and experience I have.
