It dawned on me [yeah, you're soak'n in it] today that the MB100 is a bit BiPolar. Why so? Well, there are a number of means to integrate media [music mainly] onto the device.
The owners manual and the device itself encourages you to use the physical ports at the rear of the unit to import files. However, last year, I learned that all you need do is navigate to the device IP and connect to server. Boom! You have done the equivalent of connected another hard drive to your computer: PC or Mac.
The beauty of this is that you do not need to format your media drive to a specific file format. So, that means you can use an OS X, FAT or Linux OS to move file media to the device directly.
What's this? You can entirely by pass the physical ports at the rear of the MB100? Yup! You certainly can and should!
What's great about this - is that you can instantly update your media files: add/edit/delete -- BOOM!
The Autonomics software will immediately begin re-indexing and cataloging. Suite, yeah? YEAH!
How to access the drive, you're in luck. Here how and I provided instructions last year/2004. MB100 Granular Access
