I am posting this interview here in a quest for knowledge not to impart knowledge. This is a stumbling block for me. Who here knows of this guy and his credibility? He sounds credible to me but I don't know enough to form a judgement.

I don't want to start any fights because I sense that passions can run high on this subject. It is a long video and I watched the first 15 minutes. Advance to the 2 min 30 sec mark to get to the meat and potatoes.

My question: Is what he is saying true to those here that have well informed opinions?

Fascinating. Thanks for sharing. We don't know what we don't know. Unless we know the providence, it's a crap shoot. Ever since digital came into the recording process, it's been a mess. That's why listening to original issues or reissues from the original tapes on vinyl is still my preference.

His idea of what constitutes hi-rez is not practical in the real world.

I've spoken with Mark a few times at audio shows and have heard some of his recordings. As a recording engineer he seems to know what he is doing, what I've heard sounds excellent. Otherwise it's all just opinion; educated opinion but hardly the last word on the subject.
