Saw Dire Straits in the mid to late '80s (?) at the Meadowland's then Brendan Byrne Arena. One of the few memorable groups from that period and the sound at the arena was terrific. And Knofler can play!

Opening act was Deborah Harry and Blondie on their comeback tour. Unfortunately Harry just didn't have it anymore.

Love Dire Straits. Love his solo work up to "Philadelphia" then he ran dry for me. Mostly the same shuffling dry songs on each subsequent album. Still, his old stuff is awesome.

I grabbed a couple of tickets for his show on October 4 in Ann Arbor then realized that conflicts with the last day of RMAF. I might have to catch the red-eye Saturday night or a very early flight Sunday to get back in time.
