Didn't/doesn't Nagra have pyramid-shaped SS amps? Wonder if there is a design/performance reason to house the electronics in a pyramid-based shape or is it purely for aesthetic/industrial-design reasons?

Maker Audio is run by the original owner of Edge Electronics, Tom Maker. He claims to have improved his products significantly from when he owned Edge, which themselves received many very favorable reviews over the years. They are particularly well known for their unique laser biased output stage amplifiers.
