Magico A series stand mount?

This thread is starting to turn silly. In my view a good speaker should be able to and usually can handle various types of music. Jazz and Classical are probably the two categories or sub-categories if you will that I least listen to. However if I am listening to quality speakers, showing them off so to speak, and even if it might be popular, I would not play hip-hop.

I would also say that a vast majority of Magico customers do not listen to hip-hop and I venture a guess that a vast majority of the younger folks (again generalizing, but I would say a vast majority of those that listen to hip-hop) have no idea of who Magico is. I also put forth the proposition that a vast majority of these folks would be shocked at the price of Magico, any Magico speakers.

Therefore my point was not to talk down to certain forms of music; I personally listen to a great variety of music. My point was that it would seem to make more sense for Magico, in their video promoting new speakers, to entice those who might actually consider buying them. I do not believe a video featuring hip-hop music would accomplish that goal.

Anyway, it was just an observation on a video that appeared to me to miss the point. Not to down play or down talk any particular genre of music. :D

I guess you did not understand that I was referring to their choice of music and not being critical of the speakers capabilities.

And my point is that any speaker manufacturer who only caters to the older generations music choices will die along with that clientele.
 
I listen to electronic music >50% of the time and I own Magico.

Now that's a true statement. The over 50 crowd and some of us in the 60 crowd or older can't hold the Audiophile legend up for long. One day we will be spinning around on the big turntable in the sky :D

I agree with Randy that any music should be good thru a system.

I think that the vast majority of $25,000 and up speaker customers don't regularly listen to hip hop and even less rap. But some do!

Just like some of us old farts that don't listen to classical. We have always been in the minority. Just like hip hop or rap nowadays.

But --- what is lost in all of this is: a great speaker can play anything - even movies or country or ......... Really good speakers have a niche and play one better than the others.
 
I find that quite often that either systems fail with the audiophile stuff, or if they don’t, they fail with rock.

And yet "Audiophiles" continue to go to dealers and test perspective purchases with select approved tracks and then wonder why the stuff sounds different when they get it home and play their normal albums. When you test gear play what you normally listen to and buy the gear, especially speakers, that work with your musical tastes. That's why when you use reviews as the basis of your selection process pay close attention not only to the reviewers other gear but the music he used to come to his conclusion.

Rap - Hip/Hop a Minority?? You realize that both in purchases and in streaming Rap- Hip/Hop is the most popular genre. You are spot on about Classical consumption.
