Luxman 509x Amp
...Almost everything I've read about this amp is glowingly and overwhelmingly positive, and that the sound is to die for. The only hitch I read in a single review mentioned the headphone amp needing improvement. Can any 509x owners out there comment on this.
I'm seriously considering this amp for my new system. I'd likely be pairing it with Harbeth Super HL 5 speakers. I don't do a lot of headphone listening but at the price of this amp it'd better be near perfect...as in, no weaknesses. I know myself well enough to expect I would never be 100% satisfied with an amp that has a design issue, no matter how minor or how good the amp is otherwise.
So, is the headphone amp an issue with the 509x or not? Should I just plan on buying a good separate headphone amp to go with the 509x? If it is indeed a weak point, will Luxman perhaps (albeit quietly) in the future make the necessary modifications to correct the issue? Or, as I mentioned above, is this a non-issue?
