I just order a new Lumin T2 and looking for advice. I’m moving my stereo equipment to the Jersey shore. I’m going to have to run 35’ Cat 6 cable from the router to a Lumin T2. Since I’m using a Devialet D200 I’m not able to bypass the Devialet dac (24/192 limited) until I determine what type of new integrated I want. So I have to run my Audioquest diamond USB from the T2 to the amp since I have to bypass the T2 dac. What equipment needs to go between the Cat6 cable and T2 to prevent noise etc? Do I need a USB isolator? What type? What ethernet cable should I run from the isolator to the T2 need be?

Before spending money on USB cleaning solution, I recommend getting an inexpensive BNC to RCA coaxial cable. After you have burned in the T2 digital outputs for a week, you can then try the BNC vs USB output, and see which sounds better to you with your D200 setup first. (Note that change of T2 output requires a setting change in Lumin app.)

If you already have got the long Cat 6 cable, then use it to setup first.

If you do not already have the long Cat 6 cable, an alternative you may consider is to use a fiber network with fiber media converters, but that would introduce more boxes and slightly more complicated to purchase and setup.

So the BNC connection also bypass the T2 dac like the USB? Thanks for the fiber idea but at this point in my life I’m all about minimum boxes and simplicity.

Yes, the T2 BNC and USB outputs are digital, so they bypass the T2 internal DAC.

The Audinate Dante AVIO products are pretty close to minimum additional hardware and simplicity, although they also need power over Ethernet (PoE) support from your switch. The USB adapter is limited to 48kHz though.

Well got my T2 yesterday, thank you Mike. Fit and finish is A-1, Right now I’m using my old Audioquest Diamond USB since I can’t bypass the dac on the Devialet D200. So for now I’m not using the T2 to its full potential yet (dac). I’m using the Ethernet cable that Lumin provided but waiting on a Shunyata Sigma ethernet cable. Have it burning in the last 24 hours. Played around with the Lumin app not sure yet if I’m sold on it yet coming from Spotify’s interface. First impression of the T2 tight bass.

Awesome stuff! Lumin can also do Roon and I think Peter was saying Audirvana too?

Congratulations with your new gear. And the T2 sounds really good.
Well my experience is that it always take some time to get accustomed to a new design of an app either Spotify / Tidal / Lumin / Roon.....so play around with it for a while.
Great listening .
