My Lumin P! is hard wired on the same network as my hard wired Roon Nucleus. The Lumin doesn't find / see the Nucleus at all. It's not the end of the world because I use Roon and Roon and the Lumin are working fine together and through Roon I have access to my library that way. I just can't figure out why Lumin doesn't see the Roon Nucleus and the library of 1000 cd's stored internally on an SSD?

Does the Nucleus have to be attached to the Lumin via USB in order for it to see it as a drive ?

thanks

Roon Nucleus is not a UPNP server and Lumïn can see only UPNP servers or usb attached storage.
Even if you connect Nucleus with usb you’ll not be able to see anything.

Thanks, that's been my developing conclusion. That would explain why Lumin is selling its own NAS, the L1 that hardwires to the P1. Clumsy and expensive solution as the only way to add new music to their L1 is to attach it to a Windows PC preferably and drag music files onto it. Theres no other software integration like there is with a Roon where you can simply add music to your library and or a playlist with one click. In the end its not a big deal for me as I'm accessing my library via Roon and playing/streaming the results through the Lumin P1...

L2 is one solution (L1 is the old one) as it runs a (very basic) UPNP mediaserver and is network connected, but any nas (Qnap, Synology …) can be used in the same way running Minimserver as UPNP mediaserver.
You always need a pc to load the nas …

Thanks, I've never had to do it that way so probably won't start now. Def more work (antiquated) when comparing to using a Bluseound Vault which is were I initially fed my 1000 cd's into a few years ago. I can access that across all Roon connected gear as well as any equip on the network wired or wirelessly with Blusound application connectivity. Seems like getting a CD onto a UpNP NAS would mean I'd need to have a cd drive attached to the Windows PC (and I'm a full Apple only household), then once getting the CD onto the PC, then attach the L1 or similar to load that up, then disconnect and walk it across the room and attach to the Lumin P1. Seems like a decade behind the times!

Nucleus is not a UPnP server, you cannot use Lumin app with it.

The correct way to use both Roon and Lumin app is this:

1. If you have a Synology or QNAP NAS, simply install the free MinimServer to the NAS. Roon can see the NAS music lirbrary as a network drive, while Lumin app will see the MinimServer.

2. If you don't have a NAS, use a Windows 10 / 11 computer to setup Roon (Server) and install the free MinimServer. (You cannot install MinimServer to Nucleus, however.)
