I am considering getting the L1 but have a couple of questions;

- I plan to use it with my U1 for playing music directly and for Roon. I read somewhere that Roon do not «see» the L1 on the network and I have to connect it with USB to the computer running Roon core. Anyone has experience with this?

- Will copying music from my iTunes library work or do I have to do some conversions first? I have already extracted the album cover when I first moved to Aurender.

Thanks,
Mohano

Roon does not see L1 on the network. The only workaround (for existing L1 users) is to use L1 as a USB HDD attached to the Roon Core computer. If you need something that serves both native Lumin playback and for Roon, please install the freeware MinimServer on a NAS.

If you use Roon only and do not need native Lumin playback (OpenHome), it's best to have internal storage in the Roon Core rather than from another network device (such as NAS) anyway.

For migration from iTunes to Lumin playback, it may not need additional work if the music files have proper tags to be recognized by MinimServer or L1. If an album becomes missing in album / artist / etc. views, then the tags may need to be adjusted.
