Hi All

I have been lurking around this forum for some times.....

Just installed the latest firmware update (v 11.1) yesterday and right away started noticing that my D2 skips some files for some reasons which include dsf, flac from Promaster as well as flac from my ripped CDs. I have not tried to play all music files stored in my Synology NAS via minimserver yet, but those are random files, that i have noticed. Anybody else observing the same issue? I have re-scanned files on minimserver, but no improvement. BTW, those skipped files played just fine by my Oppo UDP-203. Any thoughts?

Thanks

From the Synology to the Lumin D2, is it completely wired or does it go through any sort of WiFi bridge?

Have you ever added some music files from a USB flash drive plugged into Lumin D2, to the current playlist?

In any case, please clear the playlist and re-add the music files from the MinimServer, and see if skipping still occurs.

Thanks for your response. Connection between Synology and Lumin is wired via my router. Prior to updating to the latest firmware, I did not have any issue playing the same music files (no skipping). I have never tried to used USB flash drive on my Lumin D2.

Please clear the playlist and re-add the music files from the MinimServer, and see if skipping still occurs.

If skipping still occurs, please manually re-play the skipped music. See if it can be played, or is skipped again. (This will help diagnose the problem.)

Clearing the playlist and re-adding music files to the playlist seem to resolve the issue. Thanks for your help!

Clearing the playlist and re-adding music files to the playlist seem to resolve the issue.

This may imply your Synology IP address has been changed due to router DHCP. In order to prevent this in the future, see if you can find your current Synology IP address and MAC address, and input this pair into the router DCHP reservation table.

Hi Peter

I will do it. But this gets me thinking, why the other device (e.g.Oppo UDP) can still play the file without skipping? it still plays from the same NAS.

If the Oppo interface works like a file browser and you have to select some music each time you play it, then you're accessing the current IP address of the Synology.

Lumin saves the playlist in the hardware that may potentially sit there for months or years, and the saved playlist contains the IP address of your Synology months or years ago.
