Lumin D1 problem

I am having problems with my D1. When I power on the Lumin screen displays for around 30 seconds then the screen goes blank and stays that way. I had managed to get around this by removing the power lead for a while and restarting but now I just have a blank screen every time I power up

Anyone else had this problem. I haven't tried to reset the device yet. Is there a specific process for this? I can't find anything on the Lumin site about using the reset function.

I have emailed Lumin support and am awaiting a response but just wondered if anyone else here has experienced the same thing.

Does it work properly otherwise? If it does -- By chance on the Lumin app has the screen option been turned off?

The app doesn't recognise it as it is not booting up. It is possible that I powered it off using the app last time I used though.
