Since Mike said "I prefer AES/EBU from Aurender or SPDIF BNC from Lumin. ... The USB is really just to placate those still using a Mac or PC" in another thread, it reminds me that there were a few times I read that people have good results with using Lumin coaxial output, especially since Lumin supports DSD over PCM (DoP) over coaxial.

Recently, there is a Taiwan showroom that uses the interesting combination of Lumin D1 coaxial output to feed Avantgarde Zero 1 wireless active speakers:

When used as a streamer (via the coaxial output), would there be discernible or significant differences between the A1 vs D1?

For the D1, would upgrading the stock power supply to a LPS make a difference foe the digital output?

Thanks.

D1 inherits the same clocking system from A1 so their coaxial outputs should be reasonably close (assuming the power supply is the same but it's not). Yet A1 uses a dual-board design and uses the thick aluminium chassis to act as shielding between the digital board and the analog board, so you can see that it's superior by design.

All reports I read about adding LPS to D1 are 100% positive for the analog outputs. Since power supply noise can affect clock jitter, I would not doubt that a better power supply improves the digital output too.

I don't have an external DAC to try it out the D1 digital out. But when I had a Devialet I tried the digital out of the A1 and S1 and the S1 was better. Probably not enough better for all the extra money, but it was better.
