Probably a question for Peter/Lumin, unless anyone else has ideas...

Was cleaning up some meta-data on a few albums, so deleted and replaced them on the L1. After doing a library reload in the app, I'm no longer seeing cover art for a bunch of albums that were there before, ones that weren't touched/changed.

Have tried deleting the app, restarting the iPad, but the cover art has not reappeared.

The L1 is direct-ethernet-attached to the X1.

Other than aforementioned cover art problem, everything is working normally and sounds as amazing as ever.

Note that album art should be stored as a separate file named as folder.jpg in lowercase, or embedded inside a music file.

Please try this:

PROCEDURE TO RESET LUMIN L1
============================

The following procedure tells the L1 to recreate its database from existing music in its HDD. Although this is not a format procedure and is not expected to cause data loss, having backup of your music is preferred.

1. It would be a good idea to clear the Trash / Recycle Bin in L1 firstly.
2. Make sure USB is disconnected, then standby the L1 by pressing the power button once, so that the red LED is lit. (Note that before disconnecting the L1 USB cable from the computer, it is required to safely remove or eject the L1 first.)
3. Unplug the power from L1
4. Connect the network cable to L1 (if it is not already connected)
5. Press and hold the L1 power button
6. While still holding the L1 power button, plug in the power cord
7. Keep holding the L1 power button for about 30-40 seconds - during which observe the various LEDs blink. Keeping holding it until L1 finally stops blinking, or goes into Standby mode with red LED on.
8. If the red LED is on, press the L1 power button once to bring it online
9. After the L1 is online, please give it time to recreate the database (green LED blinking even if not accessed by any streamers).
10. Lumin app -> Settings -> Options under L1 -> Reload Music Library (If you have previously renamed the L1, the name is now reset to default)
11. If the Reload in the previous step does not occur normally, please double tap iPad home button, swipe away the Lumin app and retry the Reload Music Library.

folder.png also works, and is what I've been using whenever the embedded image data doesn't show up properly for whatever reason.

Peter, fyi I followed your procedure but it didn’t really work the way it was spelled out. After removing power and replugging it while holding down the power button, it never entered the state it was supposed to, as described in your process. In fact it seemed the hard drive wouldn’t mount (flashing red light).

What did work was, I connected via USB to my computer, moved all the Lumin system files/db’s from the root of the drive to a folder I called “Temp Backup”. Then ejected from USB, reattached to network, plugged back into power, and left it alone for a while to rebuild the databases and whatever else those system files were in the root folder. Now all the artwork is back and everything is working normally.

I see. Your drive is not formatted by L1. In that case, the L1 database files will be exposed (rather than hidden in a small Linux partition that is normally ignored by Windows or Mac OS). Those database files can be safely deleted - this has the same effect as the reset procedure.
